MOL Lays Charges in Stage Collapse

The MOL has laid 13 charges following its investigation of a stage collapse in Toronto for a Radiohead concert. Hours before the band was to take the stage, part of the outdoor structure came crashing down, killing a British drum technician. Three other workers were injured. Three companies face four charges each, alleging that they failed to make sure the staging for the concert was built in a safe manner. An engineer also faces one count of endangering a worker as a result of allegedly negligent or incompetent advice or certification [Live Nation Canada, Live Nation Ontario Concerts and Optex Staging and Services, June 10, 2013].
