To ensure proper social distancing in the post-COVID-19 workplace, you must be able to monitor contacts between and among people at your facility and determine whether any encounters closer than the prescribed minimum distance of 6 feet/2 meters occurred, whom they involved and how long they lasted. While contact tracing apps, wearables and other technology solutions are available, they may be more costly, cumbersome and privacy invasive than necessary. A simpler alternative is to do it manually by implementing a paper-based system in which workers and others log the close encounters they had during their shift or visit.
