March 29: Mailbox Falls on and Injures Postal Worker

One of Canada Post’s new mailboxes fell on a postal worker, breaking her glasses, hitting her head and injuring her right shoulder. The box sheared off its concrete base and fell face down on the ground. It’s unclear what caused the box to come apart, but the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has argued that the new mailboxes aren’t designed for Canadian weather.
