March 22: Forestry Worker Attacked by Grizzly Bear

A worker working in a logging camp in the forest on BC’s central coast was mauled by a grizzly bear. Other crew members quickly came to his defence, but he suffered multiple fractures and significant muscle damage to his arm and leg. Officers with the BC Conservation Officer Service’s specialized predator attack team were flown into the area to assess any public safety risk and to try to determine what happened.
