Supervisor Fined $20,000 for Utility Worker’s Electrocution

A worker with SaskPower was electrocuted while repairing a high-voltage transmission line. A supervisor was charged with violating The Saskatchewan Employment Act, including failing to follow the SaskPower Safety Rule Book procedure to review and revise the job hazard identification and risk assessment if job conditions change and failing to ensure a jumper cable was used prior to the cutting of an energized shield wire, resulting in the death of a worker.
