Nov. 8: Report Shows Most Companies Complying with Environmental Laws

The Ministry of Environment’s first compliance report suggests that most industrial and commercial operations in BC are abiding by provincial environmental regulatory requirements. In 2015, ministry staff completed 632 inspections including pulp and paper, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, wood processing and hazardous waste operations. Results show 95% were either in full compliance or required only an advisory or warning to address minor non-compliances.
