May 31: New Measures to Limit Emissions from Industrial Facilities

The federal government announced new measures to limit air pollution from a broad range of industries as part of the Air Quality Management System. The industrial emissions standards will be implemented through a variety of measures, including codes of practice, guidelines, performance agreements and pollution prevention planning notices. Along with these measures, the government is also finalizing the Multi-sector Air Pollutants Regulations, which will establish Canada’s first-ever mandatory national air pollution emissions standards for major industrial facilities across the country.
