A study of occupational exposure to lead in Québec companies was completed by the IRSST. The study, which was carried out between 2001 and 2008 and involved 6,717 workers employed by 500 companies, was based on almost 17,000 blood lead tests and more than 5,800 environmental lead analyses. It found that the number of workers with at least one very high blood-lead level decreased steadily over the years, reflecting a better control of exposure time.
