April 28: New App Helps Design Horizontal Lifeline Systems

Horizontal lifeline systems are an inexpensive and effective way to protect workers from falls from heights. But designing them is complex due to the dynamic nature of the load and cable sag. A new application from the IRSST can be used to design such systems. The new tool offers a user-friendly way to calculate cable tension and deflection for fall arrest purposes, as well as the clearance required in relation to the cable.
