April 1: Transition Period for Working at Heights Training Extended

Amendments to the OHS Awareness and Training Regulation took effect on April 1, 2017, and replace the original transition provision, providing an additional six months for completion of working at heights training if the employer has written proof that a worker, who completed the training under the prior law before April 1, 2015, is enrolled in an approved working at heights training program that’s scheduled to be completed before Oct. 1, 2017. Proof of enrollment must include the worker’s name, the name of the approved training provider, the date on which the approved training is scheduled to be completed, and the name of the approved training program.
