Oct. 1: Changes to Workers’ Comp Law to Be Proposed

After a recent review, the Department of Environment, Labour and Justice will propose amendments to the Workers Compensation Act in the next session of the Legislative Assembly. Key proposed changes:
- Maintain or achieve fully funded status
- Reduce wait period from three to two days
- Increase wage loss benefit from 80% to 85% of Net Insurable Earnings
- Increase indexation of benefits from 75% to 80% of CPI.
