Natural Gas Pipeline Permit Approved Subject to Conditions
A company applied to the Board for a permit to construct a pipeline and related facilities to deliver natural gas from receipt points near Goldboro, NS to the proposed Bear Head LNG export facility located near Point Tupper, NS. After holding a public hearing, the Board approved the application subject to certain conditions. For example, the company must develop a safety and loss management system that complies with CSA Z662-15. There must also be regular consultation between the company and the Native Council of Nova Scotia with respect to construction work in areas where natives have traditionally hunted and fished. In addition, any mishaps or incidents that pose a threat to native harvesters in the area be reported to the Native Council [Bear Paw Pipeline Corporation Inc.
