May 28: Changes to Workers’ Comp Law Proposed
Posted On June 1, 2015
Ontario has introduced legislation to amend three separate acts affecting workers, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. These changes would, among other things:
- Bar employers from trying to prevent workers from reporting workplace injury or illness to the WSIB by ensuring that they’re protected from retribution
- Increase maximum corporate penalties from $100,000 to $500,000 for conviction of an offence under the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
