May 27: BC Residents Are a Healthy Bunch

An independent national report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information confirms that BC has the lowest heart attack rate per capita in Canada and leads the country in several other health indicators, including:
- Lowest rates for self-reported conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma and obesity
- Below the Canadian average rate for arthritis and diabetes
- For self-reported health behaviours, the lowest percentage of smoking and heavy drinking and the highest percentage of physical activity.
