The government reminded teens aged 14 and 15 that they must successfully complete the Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course and get a certificate to work over the summer and during the school year. The mandatory course teaches youth about their rights and responsibilities as related to workplace health, safety and employment standards. Such workers must provide their employer with proof of age, written consent from a parent or guardian and a copy of their certificate. And employers must keep copies of these certificates on file.
