Every year in BC, 9,000 young people are injured at work — and 2,000 of these injuries are considered serious. And in 2012, seven young workers died in a workplace incident. So the government reminded employers of the top 7 dangers for young workers:
- Lifting objects
- Working on elevated levels
- Working with knives
- Working with hot substances and objects
- Operating mobile equipment or motor vehicles
- Working with food slicers
- Working near running equipment or machinery.
