The WCHSB released the preliminary results of its investigation into the death of a tire shop worker in November. He’d finished working on a tri-axle transport truck. The truck owner sent someone to pick it up, who found the vehicle idling, jumped in and drove away. But the worker was underneath the vehicle on the passenger side making final checks and was crushed beneath the tires. The board concluded that the vehicle hadn’t been locked out or secured against movement while the worker was working, which caused his death.
