Jan. 27: H1N1 Cases Confirmed in Potash Mine
Five cases of the swine flu virus have been confirmed at a potash mine under construction near Bethune, Sask. The mine’s owner is advising workers to stay home if they’re feeling sick, report flu-like symptoms to supervisors and wash their hands frequently. The company also held a flu shot clinic. The region’s deputy medical health officer said they’ve seen an increase in positive flu laboratory reports across southern Saskatchewan, particularly H1N1.
