A metal support beam weighing between 27 and 32 kg fell from a building under construction, striking a worker on the head, face and upper torso. He was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in serious, but stable condition. The police who arrived on the scene are crediting the worker’s protective head gear with saving his life. The MOL is investigating.
