Jan. 1: Ban on Use of Cell Phones While Driving Took Effect

As of Jan. 1, the territory became the latest Canadian jurisdiction to ban the use of hand-held devices while driving. Drivers will face fines of $100 and three demerit points if they’re caught using cell phones, music players or GPS devices.
