Jan. 1, 2014: New OHS Ticketing System to Take Effect
As of Jan. 1, 2014, workers and employers in violation of ticketable provisions of the OHS laws can be issued tickets by OHS officers. OHS tickets are no different from traffic tickets—that is, they’re on-the-spot penalties given out following an infraction of the law. Tickets will cost from $100 and $500. The government will also be able to issue administrative penalties of up to $10,000 for repeat non-compliers.
