Jan. 1, 2014: Maximum Assessable Earnings to Increase
On Jan. 1, 2014, the maximum assessable earnings will increase to $56,000. The WCB uses this figure to determine the maximum benefit payable to injured workers. The maximum is set by the WCB at 135.7% of the Average Industrial Wage in Nova Scotia. The 2014 maximum was based on information collected from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.
