Feb. 17: New Guidelines on Recycling Spent Lead-Acid Batteries
The Commission for Environmental Cooperation published new technical guidelines for the environmentally sound recycling of spent lead-acid batteries (SLABs) in North America. SLABs from cars and trucks are one of the most recycled products in the world. But poor recycling practices can result in serious, long-lasting harm to workers, communities and the environment. The CEC Technical Guidelines for the Environmentally Sound Management of Spent Lead-acid Batteries in North America were developed in collaboration with Environment and Climate Change Canada.
