Dec. 3: AEDs to Be Installed in Arenas
The government is partnering with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick to install automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in 17 arenas around the province. Each year, about 1,200 residents experience sudden cardiac arrest outside a hospital. AEDs, together with CPR, can mean the difference between life and death when used in the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest. With the addition of these 17, every hockey arena in the province will now be equipped with an AED.
