April 3: High school students began working on heavy machinery as part of Heavy Metal Rocks, a program designed to provide on-the-job experience for students considering their career options. They’ll have a chance to operate a crane, road building and construction equipment. Of course, the students first received WHMIS and worksite safety training. They also completed their Occupational First Aid, Level 1 certification.
