Aug. 5: Part of Airport Closed to Remediate Mould
After heavy rainfall in late July, mould was discovered in the roof of the Iqaluit International Airport’s security area. The mould was found inside the ceiling cavity, and it didn’t and doesn’t pose a risk to the safety and well-being of employees or passengers. The affected area will be sealed off and evacuation ventilation will be installed to prevent any indoor air quality problems during remediation. Repairs should be completed by August 19.
