Aug. 30: Fact Sheet on Delta P Hazards in Diving Operations Released
The MOL released a fact sheet on differential pressure or “Delta P” hazards (ΔP) in diving operations. Differential pressures are created when two bodies of water intersect, each with a different water level, such as at a dam, intake or other structure built to control water levels. A diver working on the high pressure side may be drawn into the flow and trapped. Employers and diving supervisors should put in place adequate measures and procedures to identify and control ΔP hazards.
