Aug. 17: Wind Turbine Collapse Under Investigation
A 82-metre wind turbine at a wind farm in Cape Breton toppled over when a component was being replaced. But no one was hurt as workers had been told to leave the tower before it collapsed. Enercon Canada Inc. said the technician on site diligently followed an evacuation protocol and safely evacuated the turbine and the surroundings so that only property damage was reported. A technical team was called in to investigate the incident.
