OHS will be conducting inspections of residential construction sites throughout the summer and fall. During two such inspection campaigns in 2015, OHS visits to 161 residential construction sites found that just 41% of the workplaces were using fall protection as required and less than 50% of the workers were wearing protective headgear. The OHS Division and WCB have identified the most dangerous and pressing compliance issues in residential construction as:
- Covering openings
- Wearing PPE
- Using and wearing fall protection equipment.
