April 6: Consultations on Proposed Regulatory Changes Announced

In addition to consulting on new or revised OELs for a number of substances, the MOL is proposing to:
- Introduce new respiratory protection and air sampling provisions into Regulation 833 – Control of Exposure to Biological or Chemical Agents
- Add an “equivalency clause” in Reg. 833 as to the addition of the above new provisions
- Change the minimum oxygen content set out in Sec. 138(1) of the Industrial Establishments Reg.
- Change the frequency of medical tests for workers exposed to asbestos to align with the medical surveillance requirements in the proposed new Medical Surveillance Code for Designated Substances.
