Sept. 22: Nine out of 10 collisions in the province in 2007 were caused by driver error, such as following too closely, running off the road and turning left into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Key stats:
- 153,901 collisions occurred (up by nearly 8% from 2006)
- 24,530 people were injured in traffic collisions (1,434 less than in 2006)
- 458 people died (five more than in 2006)
- 500,000 more vehicles were on the road as compared to five years ago.
