Roofing workers was disposing of old roofing material debris over the edge of the roof into a disposal trailer bin on the ground. As a worker using a motorized buggy to move the material reached the edge, his shirtsleeve got caught on one of the buggy’s arms, causing him and buggy to go over the roof edge and fall into the bin about 22 feet below. He suffered multiple injuries, including fractures. The worker wasn’t using any of the prescribed methods of fall protection as required by OHS regulations.
