This portion of the ‘COVID Compliance Conference’ will provide an overview of the general functioning of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy. In particular, we will discuss certain considerations that are relevant to various elections that can be made during the application process, good practices regarding record keeping, the required attestations, CRA guidance and recent audit activity, and provide answers to some frequently asked questions.
About the Speaker
Paul Carenza, As a partner in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office and Canadian practice group leader of its firm-wide Tax Group, Paul Carenza works with a range of Canadian and international clients in the private and public sectors, delivering creative and compliant solutions to meet their business needs.
Laura Gheorghiu, a partner in the Montr‚al office of Gowling WLG, where she works with the National Tax Practice Group. Laura’s practice focuses on M&A, cross-border investment structures, corporate reorganizations and providing advice on national and multinational private equity funds. She also has much experience in the taxation of new technologies ‘ in particular, of providers of e-business and blockchain technology solutions.
Anita Yuk, is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office. A member of the firm’s Business Law Department, she maintains a broad practice in the areas of tax and corporate law.
