Hog Farm Penalized $50,000 for Releasing Manure into a Creek

After a call to an environmental call centre, environmental officers observed liquid hog manure entering the creek and numerous dead fish in the creek downstream. The investigation found the hog manure leaked into the creek after a hog farm’s owner overfilled a lagoon. The farm pleaded guilty to allowing the deposit of a deleterious substance into water frequented by fish.
