Guardrail System Failure Injures Worker & Results in $25,000 Fine

At a condominium construction site, a guardrail system became dislodged and fell approximately 50 feet, hitting and seriously injuring a worker. An Alberta-based construction company pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that an area at a workplace where a worker could be struck by a falling object was clearly marked by barriers, notices, warning lights or other warning devices, resulting in injuries to a worker.
