Guarding Violation Results in Hand Injury and $25,050 Fine

A worker was operating a coil winding machine used to form conductors. His fingers came in contact with a pinch point on the machine, resulting in the loss of skin on the tips of the middle and ring fingers on his right hand. His employer pleaded guilty to allowing a worker to operate a foil/wire winding machine without sufficient safeguards in place to protect workers from contact with moving parts of said machine.
