Failure to Equip Workers with Fall Protection Results in $15,000 Fine

Seven workers were re-shingling the roof of a house without wearing any fall protection, even though they were working at a height of greater than three metres. In addition, there were no guard rails around the roof. Although no workers were injured, the roofing company was fined $15,000 for failing to ensure that workers exposed to the hazard of a height greater than three metres were equipped with fall protection [Kelvin Chong Roofing Inc., Govt.
