Employer Fined $320,000 for Fatal Crane Incident

Two workers were using a gantry crane to move precast concrete slabs in a storage yard. One of the slabs unhooked from the crane, tipped over and pinned one of the workers against the second slab. The resulting injuries were fatal. The employer pled guilty to failing to ensure that the storage racks used to hold concrete panels were free of snow and ice.
