Employer Fined $2,800 for PPE Violations

An Occupational Health Officer witnessed three workers shingling a roof without any fall protection systems in place. As a result, their employer has been fined $2,800 for violating the OHS laws by failing to ensure that workers wear approved industrial protective headwear and that workers use a fall protection system at a work area where a worker may fall three metres or more [Dave Bernier, Govt.
