Alberta
Training: Alberta employers can now apply for Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant funding covering 50% of the costs of training their current employees up to $5,000 per employee per year. Funding levels increase to 75% when the trainee is an unemployed Albertan with an annual cap of $10,000 per trainee.
British Columbia
High Speed Internet: The seventh intake of the Connecting Communities B.C. funding program to support the expansion of high-speed internet in the province, with a focus on specific areas that don’t currently have access to internet speeds of at least 50 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed is open for applications until February 26, 2026.
Farm Businesses: Applications are now open for the latest intake of the New Entrant Farm Business Accelerator Program supporting the development or updating of farm business plans as well as farm infrastructure and other investments.
Northwest Territories
Electric Vehicles: The GNWT began accepting new applications for Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program funding for the installation of EV charging stations in public places, workplaces, multi-unit residential buildings and light-duty fleet use. Qualified businesses can get up to $7,500 for Level 2 charger connectors and up to $99,999 for Level 3 fast chargers. Deadline to apply: March 31, 2026.
Nunavut
Suicide & Drug Prevention: The Department of Health’s Inuusivut division is accepting funding proposals for Upigivatsi suicide prevention initiatives and alcohol and drug prevention funding programs for the 2026-2027 fiscal year from non-profits, municipal governments and Nunavummiut. Ontario
Transportation & Roads: Ontario’s newly launched Pothole Prevention and Repair Program will provide up to $38,000 per project funding to municipalities with small populations (up to 10,000) for critical road maintenance and pothole repair. Deadline to apply: December 12.
Prince Edward Island
Climate Change: December 4 is the deadline for PEI businesses, nonprofits, communities and other stakeholders to apply for Prince Edward Island Climate Challenge Fund support for projects designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions. This year’s priority areas include climate change adaptation strategies for sensitive industries and municipalities, conducting emissions or energy analyses, improving water conservation, ensuring access to clean drinking water during extreme weather or climate emergencies and strengthening communication systems, fuel supplies, food distribution, and other community assets.
Accessibility: PEI businesses and organizations seeking to make their workplaces more accessible to persons with disabilities may now apply for Workforce Adaptation Fund grants covering 80% of eligible expenses up to $50,000 per year. Applications will be accepted continuously until the Fund is exhausted but must be submitted by the 15th of the month for review within 30 days.
