Corporate Director Fined $3,000 for Fall Protection Violations

Workers were performing stucco work on the exterior of a building when an MOL inspector arrived. He saw that although the elevating work platforms were being moved as part of the job process, three of the four workers using the platforms weren’t wearing safety belts attached to the platform to protect them from falling. A director of the stucco company pleaded guilty to failing, as a director, to take all reasonable care to ensure that the company complied with the OHS laws and was fined $3,000 [Cemal Coksurer, Govt.
