Company & Supervisor Charged in Worker’s Death

A worker was fatally injured at a work site at an access road to the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility near Inuvik, Northwest Territories. As a result, the WSCC filed nine charges against a company and a supervisor for violations of the Safety Act and the OHS Regulations, including failures to provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to protect the health and safety of workers; to ensure that all workers are sufficiently and competently supervised; and to ensure that all supervisors complete an approved regulatory familiarization program [Allen Services & Contracting Ltd. and Brian McCarthy, Sr., Govt.
