Company and Owner Fined $42,500 for Spilling Waste Oil into Creek

The MOE inspected the site of a company that provides trucking, snow plough and environmental clean-up services. The inspectors observed waste oil in a creek near the shop and a significant amount of waste oil further downstream in a low lying area of the property. The company and its owner were convicted and fined $42,500 for permitting the discharge of waste petroleum oil into a creek in violation of the Ontario Water Resources Act [1650990 Ontario Inc. and Tate Hako-Oja, Govt.
