Housekeeping/Hygiene

Hygiene and housekeeping play pivotal roles in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) by ensuring a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Proper hygiene practices involve maintaining cleanliness in workspaces, personal cleanliness, and sanitation to prevent the spread of illnesses and infections. Housekeeping in the OHS context encompasses keeping walkways clear, promptly cleaning spills, proper waste disposal, and organizing tools and materials to minimize trip and slip hazards. Regular maintenance of equipment and facilities also falls under this category. Both hygiene and housekeeping contribute significantly to accident prevention, reducing the risks of slips, trips, falls, exposure to harmful substances, and overall promoting a safer and healthier workplace for employees.
