Alberta: Workers Comp

Dec 2: That’s the deadline to comment on the Alberta WCB’s proposed changes to workers’ comp premium and rate setting rules, including:

• Adding a business test to determine an individual’s status as either a worker or business owner
• Including dividends as earnings for personal coverage holders when earnings are paid in lieu of salary
• Splitting and extending personal coveragefor individuals who want to extend personal coverage across multiple operations under one account.
