$70,000 Penalty Imposed for PCB Violations

A company was convicted of violating the federal PCB Regulations and failing to comply with an Environmental Protection Compliance Order by the continued use of, and failure to store or send for destruction to an authorized facility, equipment containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) at concentrations in excess of those permitted. The court ordered it to pay $70,000 to the Environmental Damages Fund [1526806 Ontario Inc., Govt. News Release, Aug. 3, 2016].
