Farm Safety
Aug. 13: The province announced the first farm technician apprenticeship program in Canada. Under the new program, farm workers will receive a combination of classroom instruction and on-farm experience in areas such as food safety, farm safety and use of technology. The program, which will take three years to complete, is expected to begin in January 2009.
