Editor-in-Chief -Glenn Demby

Glenn Demby is a lawyer who specializes in creating plain English compliance information products for non-lawyers in the business world.

Glenn has been helping Canadian safety professionals comply with Occupational Health and Safety laws for many years. In 2004, Glenn developed and helped launch Bongarde Media’s Safety Compliance Insider, which has become recognized as Canada’s leading source of OHS compliance insight and how-to operational solutions. In its more than 6 years of existence, the Insider has won numerous journalism awards and attracted a following of more than 3,000 safety professionals from all parts of the country. The objective of Glenn and his colleagues in creating the new OHS Insider is to do for the online service what the Safety Compliance Insider did for the newsletter.

Before coming to Bongarde, Glenn spent 15 years creating B2B compliance products for professionals in other industries, including healthcare, real estate management, education and banking.

Although he lives, breathes and eats Canadian, Glenn was born in New York City and, much to his misfortune, remains a loyal fan of the New York Rangers and Mets.

Editor – Robin L. Barton

I’ve been the editor of the Safety Compliance Insider since July 2006. I’m also the editor of the Environmental Compliance Insider. Bongarde hired me because I’m a lawyer and a journalist specializing in writing about the law in plain English and providing practical guidance on how to comply with it.

But I wasn’t always a journalist. For a rewarding eight years, I was a big city prosecutor. I started out handling basic street crime and eventually moved up to numerous long-term investigations (some involving wiretaps) into crimes ranging from drug trafficking to union corruption by the mob.

Burnout and exhaustion led me to pursue my second love—journalism—at a small legal publisher. I wrote about legal compliance issues related to shopping centre and office building management, public and private school management, fair housing law, health care administration and e-commerce.
