July 1: Consolidated Designated Substance Regulation Takes Effect

The province’s 12 standalone designated substance regulations are being consolidated into one regulation, Ontario Regulation 490/09 – Designated Substances, that takes effect July 1. Only one standalone regulation will remain: Ontario Regulation 278/05 – Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Building and Repair Operations. The consolidated regulation also includes updated OELs for various substances.
