Nursing Home Fined $55,000 for Worker’s Eye Injury
A worker at a nursing home was seriously injured when a container of disinfectant accidently sprayed the worker’s eyes. The worker wasn’t wearing eye protection at the time. The nursing home pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that the worker wore appropriate eye protection when exposed to an eye hazard. Its fine: $55,000 [Sharon Farms & Enterprises Ltd., Govt. News Release, Nov. 7, 2008].
